Baby Shower Game - Ideas and Inspiration

Baby Showers are a time for women to gather and have a great time while celebrating a little baby on the way! Generally, the person throwing the shower is the one in charge of planning favors, food and games.
Baby Shower games are the main center of "fun" at the baby shower (besides the food and gifts, of course!) Here is a great idea for a baby shower game that will keep guests entertained for hours and even leave a few with gifts!!

What you'll need:
  • 5-7 Gifts
  • A pair of Dice
  • Timer (or watch)

Here's what you do:
Wrap your gifts in unusual packages or bags. Begin by selecting one person to roll the dice. Each person that rolls doubles gets to select a gift. After all of the gifts are taken, the players begin to "steal" gifts, selecting gifts that have already been taken from another player. When the time is up, players win the gifts that they have in their possession.
Fun idea - Wrap a few "fun" gifts as well as a few gag gifts. Guests will have a real laugh if they have been fighting over toilet paper the entire time!

Unity Candle Lighting Ceremony

The unity candle ceremony is a recent addition to the traditional wedding ceremony. Widely popular in the United States, this special ceremony features two taper candles with a large pillar (called the Unity Candle) in the center. Each taper represents the couple, and the center candle represents their combined lives together. During the ceremony, the bride and groom each light their candle and use those flames to ignite the unity candle.

Often times couple will write their own vows, reciting their sentiments during the ceremony. Other effects such as music, silence, etc.

What is a Grooms Cake?

The tradition of the grooms cake has been making a huge comeback. These cakes, often a surprise to the groom, are usually served next to the brides cake. These cakes tend to reflect the interest or hobbies of the groom.
Tradition has it that a single slice of this cake is supposed to be put under the single female's pillow in order to bring "good luck" in the romance department. Whether this is done or not, each guest takes home a piece of grooms cake.
