Weddingstar - Getting Weddinged with York & White

A curious new trend amongst bridal couples is the act of getting weddinged. Not married, for these particular couples are already married, but weddinged, whereby they celebrate that marriage in true wedding format.

The reasons behind getting weddinged as the term has been coined are often as varied as the couples themselves. For some it's because at the time of their wedding for financial reasons, they simply made-do with a quick trip to the justice of the peace, for other's who eloped because that is what they wanted at the time, the loss of sharing the moment with friends and family has left a hole they are looking to fill.

However different their reasons may be, the one common denominator they all have, is the desire to share the joy of their marriage with their friends and family, and let the world see the love they have for one another.

Some couples getting weddinged will choose to do it up the traditional way, with white dress, tux, tiered cake and a full sit down dinner, while others to keep in line with their already untraditional thinking, will have a themed wedding, an offbeat wedding, or simply a celebration that can best be described as "they did it their way."

No matter how far off the beaten path they choose to wander though, most will have the basic elements and accessories, and most will still want to have wedding favors for their guests, while eschewing the idea of gifts for themselves. Having already been married, and cohabitating, the majority of those who get weddinged look at other ways friends and family can contribute or make a gift.

For some, it will be the utilizing of their services, to sing a song, do a little dance, make a cake, or design some stationery or something else to contribute to the celebrations wherever there is a need for help. Still others will look to help others, by suggesting charities that guests can make donations in their name to. Or by gifting guests with favors that show they have made a donation to a charity in lieu of the more traditional type of favors.

Not everyone will be on board with a decision to have a weddinged, and many friends and family might not understand a couple's need to celebrate something that is already a done deal. Still, the majority who were not able to celebrate with the couple at the time of their nuptials, will happily attend to show the couple their love and support.

If you are already married but never had the wedding you had hoped for, it's never too late to get weddinged.
